KIKWETE’S HOLLOW PROMISES TO FOREIGN INVESTORS!!!

President Kikwete on Monday re-assured investors that nationalisation is no longer part of Tanzania's economic policies, saying the government was keen on good governance and the rule of law.

"Rest assured that the government is not going to nationalise your property. All investments are protected by domestic law and other international guarantees,"

President Kikwete said at the 9th African Investment Forum (AIF) in Dar es Salaam.

But that is exactly what was done in the Silverdale Farm case where the Tanzanian government had to choose between the criminal activities of Benjamin Mengi and the corrupt activities of those that support him or,  the rule of law.

Kikwete chose the former and when he did this any commitment he makes to the investor community will be treated with the contempt it deserves.
